BA/BS in Communications
The Communication major at the University of Utah emphasizes academic learning, including theoretical and methodological expertise, along with practical and technical knowledge and training. Many Communication graduates go on to work within the areas of public relations, advertising, integrated marketing, print and broadcast journalism, documentary film making, and photography.
BS in Psychology
Our undergraduate program offers a wide spectrum of classes and experiences and is one of the largest majors at the U. Courses required for the major come from 5 core areas (Cognition, Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical, Developmental, and Social Psychology). A variety of courses are available within each core area, many of which reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the field.
Film and Media Arts
BA in Film and Media Arts
The B.A. in Film & Media Arts offers students the opportunity to examine closely the art form that defines our time through a series of courses covering the history, aesthetics, and criticism of the motion picture. Significant experience in film and video production is also a required element of the program. Students graduate with a solid foundation in both the theory and practice of film as an art form.
BS in Urban Ecology
Students studying Urban Ecology confront the challenges of urbanization to understand the complexity of life in cities. In this highly interdisciplinary major, environmental science, city planning, public policy, community development, and sustainability come together to challenge students to think critically about the issues faced by our urban communities and how they might be overcome as cities continue to expand.
