BA/BS in Communications

The Communication major at the University of Utah emphasizes academic learning, including theoretical and methodological expertise, along with practical and technical knowledge and training. Many Communication graduates go on to work within the areas of public relations, advertising, integrated marketing, print and broadcast journalism, documentary film making, and photography.

The B.A. in Film & Media Arts offers students the opportunity to examine closely the art form that defines our time through a series of courses covering the history, aesthetics, and criticism of the motion picture. Students studying Urban Ecology confront the challenges of urbanization to understand the complexity of life in cities.
